The saga involving Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami and his estranged wife Hasin Jahan took a new turn after the latter reached the bowler’s paternal home in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh with her daughter, lawyer and a battery of police officers, according to multiple reports in the Hindi media. However, it was reported that the door of the home was locked and Jahan returned home after spending some time with the next-door neighbours.
In a report in Aaj Tak, Jahan was quoted as saying that she will continue to fight for her rights and that she had brought her belongings with her to stay at the house but had to keep them at the neighbouring home. She also stated that Kolkata Police will be coming to Amroha to investigate the case and that she will be making further revelations regarding her husband in the near future.
Jahan had earlier made serious allegations of infidelity, domestic violence and attempt to murder against her husband and most recently, she also accused him of age-fudging by sharing an image of his old driving license that shows his year of birth to be 1982. She had also claimed that the pacer was involved in match-fixing and that he was regularly meeting a Pakistani woman in Dubai and taking payments from her on behalf of a UK-based businessman.
Shami had been removed from the list of centrally contracted players following Jahan’s accusations but was later given a clean chit following a BCCI probe, who found him not guilty of the charges and reinstated him with a Grade B contract.
